Frequently Asked Questions

When should I contact a tax preparer?

What should I bring to my appointment?

When should I contact a tax preparer?

If your return includes anything beyond W-2  income you should always consult with a professional.  Just because you can do it yourself doesn't mean you should. Online DIY tax software can only be as accurate as the data you enter into it, so if you're getting confused about what you should be entering, you could be putting in the wrong information.

Doesn't it cost a lot of money?

When should I contact a tax preparer?

For the most part we have flat rate fees at about 20-30% less than our competitors.  A better question to ask is can I afford not to? It is a lot more expensive if we have to fix it later. And if you're missing deductions it is actually costing you money...

Are you CPA's? No, we are EA's!*

What is an EA? An enrolled agent is a person who has earned the privilege of  representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service.  Enrolled agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards.  Individuals who obtain this elite status must adhere to ethical  standards and complete continuing education courses every year. Enrolled agents, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs),  have unlimited practice rights. This means they are unrestricted as to  which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can  handle, and which IRS offices they can represent clients before.

*Some preparers are not EA accredited...yet. But all preparers are Certified Tax Law Specialist at a minimum.
